Production, Editorial and Marketing Services

Charlotte Overby is an accomplished editor and producer who has worked in a variety of roles that touch internet marketing and development. Most recently she worked for Patagonia, Inc. in Ventura, CA, where she produced multimedia publishing initiatives including video, blogs and catalogs.

She currently works for their book division on titles that champion the intersection of environmentalism and Patagonia’s unique corporate culture, including Surf Is Where You Find It, an autobiography by surf legend Gerry Lopez. Overby’s experience is diverse and includes serving as editor for several natural history field guides, running QA teams for software product development and playing the double bass in a professional klezmer band.

In addition to Patagonia’s book division, Charlotte works for the Nevada Wilderness Project, based in Reno, NV where she lives, on grassroots internetworking, outreach and video projects. Since 1999, the group has protected more than 3 million acres of public land in the state.

She was a co-founder and director of Missouri River Relief, a non-profit organization dedicated to cleaning up trash from over 700 miles of the Missouri River. The group has picked up more than 300 tons of “industrial-strength” garbage—car bodies, old appliances, tires—since 2001, and she still returns to the river once a year to drive trash boats for them. Charlotte recieved an M.A. in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a B.A. in English from Mount Holyoke College, S. Hadley, MA.
