Linda Nelson is a 25 year veteran of the publishing industries, and has worked as a CEO, CTO and CIO. Nelson was CIO for the Village Voice newspaper / Stern Publishing for 13 years. In her 25 year publishing career, she has performed every task—from copy editing to page layout, printing to web development.

Nelson is the founder and Executive Director of Opera House Arts in Stonington, Maine, a community nonprofit which employs the performing arts to strengthen local community and to build leadership skills and consensus around challenging social and economic issues; and a member of the Maine Arts Commission. While founding Opera House Arts and restoring its National Register of Historic Places theater building, Nelson also served as News Editor for the island’s weekly local newspaper, Island Ad-Vantages; and as Director of Products & Services for Collaborative Standards, a software company based in San Francisco, CA. She provides Strategic Planning; technological specification; facilities management; financial; organizational development; and operational start-up services.

A Bowdoin College graduate, Nelson is a classically trained musician and former member of the American Federation of Musicians; and a freelance writer and book editor whose fiction, poetry, and criticism have appeared in anthologies and periodicals.
